Roof Strip and Relay

A strip and relay is a cost-effective alternative to a full roof replacement when your existing tiles or slates are still in good condition. We strip off the worn exterior, install breathable modern underfelt and treated battens, and relay your original tiles for a refreshed, watertight finish.

When You Need Strip Relay

Your roof is leaking in multiple places due to deteriorated underfelt rather than broken tiles. Your roof tiles are still strong and high-quality, but the wooden battens beneath have rotted. You want to overhaul an older pitched roof without the expense of purchasing brand new tiles. Internal loft inspections reveal daylight shining through degraded felt and failing overlaps.

How We Do It

We carefully strip off your existing tiles and slates, sorting and stacking them safely for reuse. We remove rotted battens and old degraded underfelt down to the bare timber rafters. We install modern breathable roofing membrane and new treated timber battens across the entire roof deck. We expertly relay your original tiles or slates, installing new lead flashings and ridge tiles to finish.

What to Expect

A typical roof strip and relay project takes between 3 to 5 days to complete.
